The nation’s top-rated wide receiver will announce his decision on where he will play his college football today at a press conference at his high school.
Laquon Treadwell, an Under Armour All-American and a 5-star prospect, will announce his choice at Crete Monee’ (Ill.) High School at 5 p.m. CST. 247Sports and Rebels247 will have full coverage of the event.
Treadwell will choose between Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.
The 6-3, 195-pounder is fresh off a weekend official visit to Oklahoma State, followed by an in-home from OSU head coach Mike Gundy on Monday, Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze conducted his in-home visit with Treadwell on Tuesday evening.
Treadwell took his official visit to Ole Miss on Nov. 30 then named the Rebels his leader on Dec. 4. Despite the official visit to Oklahoma State and an earlier one to Oklahoma, he has never wavered on his status of Ole Miss being his leader.
Following Freeze’s in-home visit on Tuesday, Treadwell published a picture of himself wearing Ole Miss gear via social media. This morning, however, he used social media to publish a photo of himself in Oklahoma State attire.
Treadwell has said his mother will play a key role in his decision on where he will play his college football. Ole Miss was the only school in which his mother accompanied him on his visit.
Another factor to consider is that Treadwell’s former high school teammate, Anthony Standifer, is a freshman defensive back at Ole Miss. Treadwell’s first trip to Oxford came when he tagged along with Standifer to help him move into his dormitory at Ole Miss.
