Congratulations Coach Kennedy!!! Well deserved, picked 7th preseason-ended 3rd! Double bye in tourney. Congrats to Marshall, Howell Award winner!
And people want him fired! We are one win away from a tournament birth.
Fact. Every team since 1998 in the power 6 conferences that won 24 games got in. That's not going to change.
What kills me is people see not making the tourney as a complete failure of the season. We finished 3rd overall and would have won the west if we had divisions. Will I be disappointed if we don't make it? Yes. But AK has helped put Ole Miss basketball back on the map. There isn't another coach in the nation that can do more than what AK has with the resources we have for our basketball program!
Thought we finished tied for 2nd
amazing how we forget about the awful losses he's had when we win a couple in a row
PositivePete- Dasshatriggeman is a bama plant on this site. His dugie houser underling always up votes him.
Amazing how you forget that AK has a .630 winning percentage, is the all time winningest head coach at the least budgeted team in the SEC, with an outdated gym where we cant recruit and a fanbase that says they care but doesnt pack the house. He has been on the tournament bubble 4 times and in postseason play in all 7 years as our head coach.
Amazing how you forget how far Ole Miss basketball has come considering we're the worst team historically and statistically in the SEC all time. We have a losing record all time to every current SEC team. We've won te SEC tournament 1 time. Only been to the NCAA tournament 6 times and to the sweet 16 once.
Amazing that we're one game from a tourney bid an all you care about is firing Kennedy!
Come on man, this team has no fundamentals at all
It's amazing how people are okay with six years and no meaningful post season. Crazy.
The Rebels have won 18 Southeastern Conference team titles during the Billy Chadwick era (the last 30 years).
Yes and thy blame goes to the coach. But Average talented players usually equals average teams.
This isn't the 60's where you can just be more fundamental then the other team. To win today requires talent
What recruit wants to play at the tad pad in front of 5,000 fans
We will be in the tournament if we win Friday. So why don't you chill bc youll be on the AK bandwagon if we win
I'm not satisfied. I'm just realistic.
It is still street ball. I am happy for him. I think he is a little late to the party but who wouldn't be happy. All I have to say is he better make it to the dance. I just can't understand keeping him if he doesn't. There have to be expectations in this league...especially when you get paid as much as he does. Make it to the show or get lost. They take 64 teams...it is embarrassing that we can't make that. Good for AK though.
Kill that man Patrick WIllis!
Thank you. We have ONE good win all year against Missouri when one of their starters was injured. I don't care how many wins he racks up against an awful OOC schedule and bad-to-mediocre SEC teams, Kennedy is an awful coach. And what's all this "average talent" stuff? We have a more talented roster than all but probably 3 teams in the conference.
HEY!!! We have the talent!!!! They are not being coached to their potential!!!! And YES you can have an average talent team that us FUNDAMENTALLY sound and beat better talent, the NCAA Tourney will be full if them this year!
NBC has a dog in the hunt.
They may want to sock it to Ole Miss, they may anticipate an NIT for Ole miss and want to promote it. Is there true merit to this award? Led off with the best start in Ole Miss history, all time win leader but no NCAA births. Hmmm.
This team is the exact same as last year with Marshall Henderson. Great job recruiting him but there was a connection to help.
This program will never elevate unless we have a coach them out plans, out teaches and out motivates other programs.
Demarco Cox ran himself into a better player. He RAN EVERY DAY! Now he is dealing with the roadwork he did to his foot.
As a rugby player you did things like that to get better, so the team would get better. Who progressed as much as Demarco in the last four years????? Aaron Jones was progressing on the court but I have not seen him develop a 12 foot jumper to stretch interior defense. Murph, Buck???? We are all huck and chuck.
Plus, when players said they would go pro if a coach was fired you need to let those folks go. This is Ole Miss not a road show for one person.
I support the Rebels Hardcourt ballers but to expect a different result when you do the same things is the definition of insanity.

24 up votes and 3 / 4 down votes is almost like giving everyone a trophy, win or lose.
Losses happen get over it! Michigan lost to an 0-14 Penn State team and they're a hell of lot better than us! If I was a player I'd be disgusted reading some of this shit y'all say
CG- We, well I love the basketball Rebs but we get the same thing every year. A student will not turn in a 20 page research paper if it is not assigned. (Typically)
This team needs to be led. Murphy should have had his left arm tied to his body to teach him to go right. The only way he is stopped is by being overplayed to the left. That would have made him an NBA prospect. Buck needed to learn a 12 foot jumper but his knees slow him in practice but learning a turn around J does not kill the body.
Basketball is different with the three point line but we have 1 shooter and dribble drive needs more then 1 shooter.
I love the basketball rebs and hope Murph and Buck make it to the next level but their chances could have been helped in four years.
BTW plus 1 for your love of the Rebs!

How can you say that.
Our best player is a scrawny, short, crazy white guy who has been to 5 schools in 5 years. He's an all SEC performer and could be the SEC player of the year.
Our 2nd best player is an undersized big man (6'7" being generous), that can only drive left. And he is an all SEC performer averaging a double double.
The only player you can say that about is Reggie. But we all know you can't put the full blame on AK. Sometimes he's just lazy. We also know that when Reggie wants to play like a big man he has all SEC potential.
My topic did exactly what I intended, bring you bloodsucking haters back out! AK is staying- get on board or follow Ray and the Dogs! I think some of y'all don't know what Bball talent is...I love Murph and Buck but great? As a player, if you want to go right, make the effort-if you want to make a 12 footer, practice. These are men, not boys!
let's all calm down and take it easy. we have plenty of time to let it all play out and see how we feel in may.
Am I a blood sucking hater? I hope I don't come across that way!
Bjork will make the call and the right one, either way. He knows what he is doing. I don't see AK in for the long term, but it wouldn't surprise me if Bjork kept him at least until the new arena is built. There isn't another Hugh Freeze to hire right now, other than maybe our old Point Guard who is coaching at.. La Tech I think? Or La Monroe?
Joe, I meant to up vote you on the Calm down message. Sorry, i hit the wrong button.
Only wins that truly count are the ones you get in NCAA..... you are not on the map at all......unless you get them. Rod Barnes got some......just saying
