Wow, this is a good good kid spiraling out of control over the mess at USM. He would be a great athlete under Freeze!
He turned down $800,000 from MLB to play QB at USM for a first year coach that just got fired. To top it off his mother gets arrested at a football game for defending him abdnow he gets locked up. I say LEAVE USM.
Totally agree. This kid has nothing but trouble written all over him and his mom sounds the same way! Stay at USM
He and his mother were treated like trash at USM, not bad people, his mother was defending him against some drunk redneck at a ball game, the whole incident was handled terribly, if the kid is in trouble, it is due to crap at the school, not his upbringing
I have heard things about him coming to Ole Miss
PositivePete- Dasshatriggeman is a bama plant on this site. His dugie houser underling always up votes him.
Doubt it's anything to it. We really don't need him.
Get em all send om back to tennessee georgia and florida in search of talent this is our State- Oxfordawg
There's something to it.
I can tell you that Anthony Alford is a fine young man. Any of you internet tough guys who talk bad about Anthony must just be trying to get your post count up. He is a fine young man! He has done many great things in athletics, but I can tell you with 100% certainty (because I actually know the young man) that he is one of the best young men that I have met. Yes, there are some genuine issues with Anthony's mother, which is why he lived with Steve Buckley and his family. But only someone who has no clue about the character of this young man would sit there behind your computer screen and lob character grenades! I don't know what transpired on the campus of USM yesterday, but I have to believe that there is a whole lot more to the story than what is being released. If Steve Buckley didn't get on with the staff at USM, I believe that Anthony would have been an Ole Miss Rebel.
I understand him to be a good kid also. I was saying he needs to leave USM.
Since when do we not need good people/athletes here at Ole Miss, need EVERY dang good recruit we can get out of Mississippi!!
I knew exactly what you meant Delta77ms. I saw where you put "leave USM" in your original comments. I was referring to others, and not just on this board. We have probably all been involved in some circumstances in our lives that "got out of control" or had to suffer some "unintended consequences" for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. We should all live by the phrase "there, but by the Grace of God, go I". It's easy to jump on somebody that we don't know about circumstances are "hearsay".
If the young man wants to come to Ole Miss, then we should welcome him. The days of problem players are over at Ole Miss. If a kid doesn't "buy in," he won't make it anyway. He will meet Hugh's standards and rules or he won't be around very long, so no worries with things like that in my opinion. I would love to have him and any other kid with this athletic ability.
