There is not 1 single coach who has done more or got more out his team with less than Freeze. I know Sumlin and Franklin did an amazing job with their teams but both of those guys had a good bit of experience returning! Freeze has been a man of his word ever since the first day he was hired and this team competed for 60 mins every ball game and I couldn't be more proud of OUR COACH and OUR TEAM. Like I said in the past and I still stand by it, Freeze will lead us to Atlanta and SEC championships.. Go on and start building his statue, I'll chip in on it
i think he will get a lot of consideration but it will be hard to pass Sumlin this year in my mind. Hard to believe the success he had coming in. of course it was largely on the shoulders of JFF but I expect him to win it.
I also think Freeze and Franklin will split votes from similar minded voters. what i mean by that is the voters that want to vote for a coach that pulled a program back from the bottom. i think some of those guys will vote for freeze and some for franklin. this will further push sumlin's W.
just my thoughts. but, by all means, freeze did a hell of a job this year

**the $50 goes to others schools athletics dept**
I think your 100% spot on. With that logic, are you sure you’re not an OM fan?
I think Will Muschamp will be heavily in the mix for it too. I'm not saying Freeze doesn't deserve it. What he did at Ole Miss in his first year was amazing. But I think Muschamp gets some serious votes, too.
i'd be nice if freeze took the honor, momentum builds!
I understand your logic, but I think your spot on wrong. Ask yourself, did you ever find yourself saying (while watching an A&M game), "Man what a coaching job!" Nope, and neither did I. However, I was in awe of Johnny Football just like everyone else__especially opposing Coaches. If you were a Coach, could you in good conscience vote for Sumlin? Hell No!
I might vote for Muschamp, but not Sumlin.
The only real choices are Freeze and Franklin.
I never really thought about it like this. To be honest, their offense didn't really impress me play wise as much as our offense does at times. It wasn't so much the plays or the play calling, but the guys making the plays, namely Johnny M. The worst thing you can do to him is flush him out of the pocket, because then he can beat you with his feet and/or his arm. The guy is just elusive with a 6th sense for where to run or throw the ball.
Tyler Russell had one play like that against us, but Johnny M had a dozen or more.

Sloppy tips but I have to give coach Hugh credit for keeping this team together against adversity. Credence slips by nobody. Gets my vote for coach of the year.
I believe that CHF has done the most with the least experienced and depth dePleted team in college fb. We took 59 players down to baton rouge (CJ wasn't even able to play) and almost upset LSU. Then we came home and destroyed our rival who was ranked 25 with only 57 players. He's squeezed every last drop of effort and talent out of these young kids and out the energy and excitement back in Ole Miss football that we've been missing.
Only 2 out of our 6 losses came by teams they weren't ranked in the top 10 and those 2 teams ( Texas and Vandy) are both 8-4. He has already over produced and exceeded our expectations coming into this season.
With that said, I still don't think he wins it when it comes down to the voters.
1. Kevin Sumlin
2. James Franklin
3. Will Muschamp
4. Hugh Freeze
5.Mark Richt (his name will be more relevant if he beats Bama and gets to the NC)
Let's look at the facts. Will Muschamp and the Gators. Well, everybody expected them to do fairly well. They won a National Championship not too long ago. Will is good but talent is there as well. Keith Summerlin (Johnny Football) aTm. Bottom line, take away Manziel and they are a 5 win program. I don't care what you say. Franklin and Vandy. Didn't they go bowling last year? Props to them but we saw this last year. Mark Richt and the Dawgs. Beat Bama and hands down he deserves it...beat Notre Dame...National Coach of the year. This brings me to Hugh Freeze. 59 scholarships. 1st year head coach in a MAJOR conference. Playing with mostly fresh and soph in the SEC. No Johnny Manziel. Did I mention 59 scholarships? They are now bowling. Wow. You choose....I'm gonna go with Freeze for SEC coach of the year

honestly i did
they figure out how to take the Houston scheme and make it kill in the SEC
also, they have an extremely underrated defense which was as much to do with it as anything
