Give me y'all input

  • When digging into the ground, you never know what you'll find. Just like digging deeper into the 2011 season, and as I dig deeper into the issues of last season i have found out this one thing, that we will have a pretty good football team next year. The O-Line will be much improved, as well as the QB position on the offensive side of the ball.
    The biggest issue for this team will come at the D-Tackle spot! What will Coach Freeze do at that position? So, guys and galls on the Rebel247 site help me out..

  • I feel like our definsive line will be made if all def end types...speedy, lean, quick stepping, stunting and slanting....wouldnot surprise me to see 4/4 type defense.....crazy? Maybe not...

  • SCHEME,SCHEME and more SCHEME. The D-Tackle postion, for the most part, is young and thin in numbers. Most of the DT's haven't seen alot of action. Grant was the best D-Tackle we had last year, while Bennett showed flashes of being good. I believe the question will be...... DEPTH. With guys like Martin, Hamilton, and Pena.........Will they be able to contribute? Can they play 10-15 quality snaps a game? Will they move some people around (i.e. move Corey Gaines back to DT) It has to be the SCHEME Big Cat.

  • I think if we have 4 fast de's up front that would put alot of pressure on the ball. Something like the Giants do. I think this could work in the SEC.

  • Thats what I was referring to...cant move oline out of the way, but speed past them thru the gaps...oline gets turned around and the lbackers clean up

  • We need 4 guys on that front line that know how to get off blocks. Go around run through em or something! Get low and crawl under if you have to. Looked like a slapping contest out there last season!

    The Giants use four DE's on 3rd downs, not 1st and 2nd down. Gentlemen, this is the SEC!!!!!!! The SEC is known for Defense, primarily DT's. DL play is what seperates the SEC from every other conference. Running around blocks is why our Rebels ranked last in the SEC and 89th in total defense last year. We gave up 2699 rushing yards last season, which averages out to be almost 225/game. The game of football is won in the trenches, and in my opinion we need our DT's to step up and make plays.

    I like everything your saying. Psycho would love to see guys blowing up people, but can we make moves this season? No, your right we are in the SEC Rebel70, but you know as well as anybody that the Defensive and offensive line win ball games. Those two position were unfortunately sir the worst out there last season.
