It will start getting real in about three months, then will keep on being real for another three months. You may feel good if you can pick up four to five wins, but that may be a challenge for your team, especially considering your schedule. If Freeze picks up as many as five wins, he should be congratulated. I think it is unlikely, however. You have two sure wins and two possibles. After that, your chances of victory are dim.
Until you guys get an independent and competent AD to fire, find and hire coaches, your path will be difficult. Archie is a nice guy, I think, and a point of pride for many, but he is not a competent substitute for a full functioning AD. He should not be allowed to hire any more people for your athletic program. Until Jones and Khayat are removed from your chain of command, you will have problems with your fan base and getting coaches you really want. I don't charge for this advice, but there are many OM supporters who agree with me.

I don't think Archie is hiring anyone else. Bjork has taken the helm as AD. Most of us see 4-5 wins this year as an excellent year. There are a few on here that expect more. Some think it will be like Nutt's first year. I don't think so but who knows. If it is like Nutt's first year i will GLADLY eat some crow.

Just thought I would correct some Rebel Bear perceptions.
1. Dan Mullen graduated from Manchester, New Hampshire, High School. His Dad went to Penn State. Dan also went to Ursinus (the Bear) College in Pennsylvania, a "Little Ivy" school. He is not from Pennsylvania. 2. Dan Mullen never trashed Ole Miss, he just prefers to refer to you as The School Up North (TSUN). 3. Dan Mullen reacted to Houston Nutt's slander of Mississippi State, because Nutt had said the week before that Ole Miss was the only school in Mississippi on the rise. 4. Assertions of having the best athletes at every position then losing by double digits in 2 of 3 straight years and by more than a TD in the other indicates an aberration in thinking. 5. How did Mullen trash USM? I never saw anything about that? Did he call them TSDS? 6. Dan Mullen shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence with our former head coach. 7. Dan was offered Miami, Illinois, but not Florida, even though Foley called him about the job. 8. Dan promised we would never lose to TSUN while he is here. He has made good on his word so far....and counting.

Why Dan Mullen is bad for the state of Mississippi
